9 Weeks 4 Days

Went for our first scan today and everything looks good so far!  :D  I thought I was 9w 2d but the scanner thingy says 4 days, but oh well!  Baby's about 27,5mm big now.  :)

I didn't think we'd see so much detail yet, but you can make out almost everything, the head on the left, the arms below that and the legs on the right.  Cute huh?  :D
And here we can see the baby's heart beat of 187bpm, and we heard it too:
So next scan is scheduled for 12 weeks and then they can do more measurements and things to determine baby's health.

I think we're going to see if we can wait until after the 12 week scan to tell everyone . . . in the mean time I'm gonna begin working on all the cute ways we're gonna tell everybody. :D

8 Weeks 6 Days

Little one's still hanging in there! :D  The spotting still hasn't stopped though.  The other day I had some slight AF type cramping for a little while so got worried with that, but then it disappeared again.  Yesterday I also had a few really sharp pains toward my back but I dunno if it's pg related or something else, but I'll mention it to the doc on Wed.

We've got our first scan this coming Wednesday, so I'm curious to see what I'm going to see there, so fingers crossed that everything is going as it should and that everyone is healthy!! :)

I'm still slightly nauseous at times and a little tired and low energy now and then, but all in all it's a big improvement on last week when I had a lot more nausea and fatigue.  I still have the same old food aversions.

Right about now little one should be about the size of a medium grape. :D  (well, on average anyway, we'll find out for sure on Wed).

If everything goes well, we may wait until about week 12 to tell everyone the news. :D  I've already decided how we're gonna tell everybody (everyone's gonna hear it in a different way . . . it's so much more exciting for me that way, hehe), so I can't wait to get started on that already!

It feels like I'm forgetting something . . . I wanted to say something specific here but don't know if I've forgotten again or if I've already said it! Haha . . .

7 Weeks 5 Days

We just came back from a really great and relaxing holiday at the sea, and I'm happy to say that we're still pg!  I'm really feeling better about this one sticking . . . I'm almost 8 weeks, so I'm hopeful again!

I'm still spotting though, but I've also been told that there are women who spot for weeks and weeks and carry on to have a healthy and normal pregnancy.

Also, I after a week and 1 day I FINALLY got the blood test results! My hcg count (ie pregnancy hormone) as of 30 April is 15 210 - wow.  :D  Last time at apparently 5 weeks, my count was between 600 and 700 . . . I know it's different from person to person and probably pregnancy to pregnancy, but the count I have now sounds much healthier than the previous one. :)  From what I've read, the count should typically just about double every second day, mostly in the beginning.

Anyhoo . . . this has been an eventful week, pg-related that is.  A day or 2 after arriving at our holiday destination I began feeling really queezy most of the day - this lasted a few days but seems to have let up a bit now, I don't feel it AS bad or as much any more.  At about the same time, I suddenly developed lots of food aversions - I can't stomach meat really, I no longer seem to like the smell of brown bread, I struggle to finish a whole cob of corn (which I normally love!) - and I'm still finding out what else I can eat and what not.

I'm happy to say that I can still eat tomatoes, mangoes and apples, which I all like! In fact, I'm now more in the mood for apples than I've even been before.  Oh, and I can still eat oats, which I'm very glad about.  BUT, my chocolate cravings have completely disappeared!! - This is a first for me . . . Actually, just the smell of my chocolate spread made my stomach turn . . . :O  And the smell of a bbq fire sort of makes me feel a little queezy too.   But I still want cream donuts though . . . :D

And all this happened within the last week!  Can you believe it.

Oh, and how could I forget - the fatigue . . . oh my goodness!  I had no idea it gets this bad.  I'm not so much sleepy fatigued, but my body at times has NO energy . . . sometimes even standing is an effort - even sitting.  Now I completely understand why some say they spend most of their time in bed.  ISH.

So ya, baby has decided to really make it's presence known this week, hehe.

I'm about to find out tonight if I can still stomach garlic bread.  I hope sooooo!  And I think tomorrow I should make my yummy-yum mashed potato salad - even though I'm really in the mood to have some right now, I won't know if I can still eat it until I actually EAT it.  So wish me luck, haha.

And I think I burp more.  And for about 2 weeks now or so my nose has been stuffy once or twice a day.  I don't think it's allergy related 'cause I've never had this before but have read that this is ANOTHER pg thing.

Oh, and as of now, baby's about the size of a blueberry. :D

6 Weeks 1 Day - In Limbo

So all I can say at this point is that I'm in pg limbo . . . don't really know what to expect or what's going to happen or even if it's still going to continue or not.  *sigh*

Anyhoo, went to the GP yesterday to see if they can test to see if there's a problem, but he said there's nothing to test for at this point and nothing can be done or checked for because it's too early.  Hmmmm.  So all he ordered was a blood test to see my hcg levels (pregnancy hormone).  How uneventful.

He just confirmed what I already knew, and that is that spotting is very common and normal during pregnancy, as long as it's not a heavy flow.  He didn't seem to be concerned at all about the fact that I'd been spotting for 11 days already (today would be day 12).  He also seems to be of the opinion that a foetus doesn't just abort "just like that", but I've read otherwise on many different articles.

I thought he could test my progesterone levels, but apparently he said there's no use in doing that either because we have nothing to compare those levels to, ie to what is normal for ME it seems.  I thought there'd be some kind of standard test to see if it's high enough to support a pregnancy, but it seems there's no such thing.   That's weird, because there must be something you can do to test for low progesterone.

So now we wait.  He says just to relax and quit stressing about it and just enjoy being pregnant . . . ISH.  And there's to be no bd'ing for a while still, until things have settled down.

I just hope we find out either way for sure REALLY SOON, so that we can just get on with things!  It sucks not knowing what's going to happen.

I'm still doing my bbt charting and I've noticed that slowly over the last week or so my temps are becoming lower, and today there was a big dip (well, I call it a big dip anyway) . . . I don't know if that means AF is on the way or WHAT, but here's what the chart looks like now, since day of O (CD 21):
I'll see what my temp says tomorrow . . . hopefully it jumps back up again. :S
